WagTail Cottage

WagTail Cottage in the village of Snettisham is in The Courtyard off School Road and is accredited with 4 stars by the English Tourism Council. It has one designated parking space immediately outside the front door within the Courtyard area and additional space is generally available on the nearby public road (a cul-de-sac).

Accommodation

Entrance hall, a lounge/dining room leading to a small well-equipped kitchen including washer/dryer, fridge with small freezer compartment, electric cooker and microwave. A french window from the lounge leads to the pretty, enclosed south-facing regularly maintained garden. Garden table and chairs are provided, plus a barbecue. Upstairs are two bedrooms, one with a king size bed and the other with two three-foot beds and bathroom with bath/shower. Heating throughout is all electric with a mix of storage and convection heaters. A cot/playpen, high chair and stair guard are provided.

The Village

Snettisham is located on the B1440 and can also be accessed via the A149 Dersingham/Snettisham bypass. Wagtail Cottage is about twelve years old, close to the village centre and is 2-3 minutes walk from the local grocery shop/newsagent, the pharmacy and a hair salon (2 more salons are in the village) and an excellent small bistro (usually requires advance booking. Take your own wine, no corkage charge). There are three pubs, all very different, with restaurants, within 5 minutes walk as is the post office.

Location

Snettisham beach is about 2 miles, Heacham beaches about 3 miles and Hunstanton about 4 miles. Old Hunstanton is about 5 miles and there are several more large sandy beaches around the coast at Thornham, Titchwell, Brancaster, Holkham along to Wells-next-the-Sea and beyond. Sandringham House is about 4.5 miles.

There are bird reserves including at Snettisham and Titchwell. Other wildlife experiences include boat trips to see seals from Hunstanton, Blakeney and Morston as well as Park Farm in Snettisham itself with not-so-wild animals.
