Where do the lessons take place ?

All lessons take place at my home. 16 Byfield Close, Woodmancote.

What are the lesson times ?

Weekday start times 9.00am -  6.00pm, subject to availability. Also, Saturday / Sunday mornings from 9.30am.

What do lessons consist of and what do they cost ?

Each lesson includes:

. A full hour of one-to-one tuition;

. A stereo recording of the whole lesson, on cassette tape;

. Printed practice notes for you to keep;

. Free e-mail support and loans of music books/ CDs videos / DVDs between lessons.

. I can provide backing tracks for many artists & also digitised video lessons, provided you have a suitable computer.

After the initial free meeting ( see below), the cost is £30 per lesson, pay-as-you-go. You need only pay for one lesson at a time but each lesson must be paid for in advance and is for a specific date and time. If you cannot attend for any reason , please let me know as soon as possible, as any "no shows"  will charged for.  I reserve the right to charge for lessons cancelled at short notice, except in unavoidable circumstances. There is no additional charge for rescheduling a lesson, but please note that any lesson credits will expire after three months if not used

How often are the lessons ?

Most students take a lesson every two weeks, but if cost or time is an issue, then go at your own pace. I try to be as flexible as possible for people with busy lifestyles and/or limited funds. If you work shifts, or irregular hours, we can arrange lessons to fit in with your schedules/

Do you teach beginners ?

Yes, absolute beginners are very welcome. If you’ve don't already have a guitar, then you will need to buy one before you can begin .You need a steel string acoustic guitar, or an electric guitar with a strap, lead, and practice amplifier. You should also buy an electronic tuner and buy or download a metronome. There are free metronomes and other utilities on my downloads page.

                  What styles do you teach?

I teach most styles: e.g. pop, rock,  funk, blues, jazz , folk; pick and/or fingerstyle.

I don't teach specialist  flamenco or  classical (nylon strung) guitar technique. For classical guitar teachers, click here

I can also prepare & enter students for London College Of Music examinations - all grades. For exam info click here

When can I start ?

Before booking the 1st lesson, I’ll invite you to a free introductory meeting, so that I can get a good understanding of what you can already play & what you want to focus on learning. Bring a list of your favourite music so that I can hear what inspires you and what you’d really like to be able to play.

Please contact me by phone 01242 675 985  or by email to arrange a meeting or to ask any further questions.
