Calder Valley and District Branch Cats Protection

Money Matters

Many people do not realise that the Branch is self-financed and run entirely by unpaid volunteers. Money is always in short supply, and the efforts of our fundraisers are tireless. Every penny raised is spent for the benefit of local cats.

Money is always welcome as more money means we can help more cats. Money sent to Headquarters will be credited to central funds, so if you are making a donation and wish it to benefit your local Branch, then please send it to:

Calder Valley and District Cats Protection,
PO Box 63, Todmorden, OL14 8WQ.

Please make cheques payable to Calder Valley and District Cats Protection.

For the annual sum of £5 you could become a Branch member. Click here for a printable membership form. Subscriptions boost Branch funds and, in return, we will send you regular newsletters. If you are a tax payer, you can make your gift go even further by completing a Gift Aid Declaration form. We are then able to claim 28p from the Inland Revenue for every £1.00 that you give.

Some people like to know exactly how, and who, their gift will help. If the purrsonal touch is for you, then why not join our Sponsor a Cat Cabin scheme? This would involve you making a monthly payment to Calder Valley Cats Protection. To join this scheme please contact us by phone, post or email, giving us your name and address, and we will send you an application form.

Getting donations is great, but we don't always expect everything for nothing. Sales of catnip mice and cat care manuals boost our funds and enhance your relationship with your cat. Please make all cheques payable to Calder Valley and District Cats Protection.

How about buying one or more of our catnip mice for your favourite feline? Our catnip mice cost £1.20 each. Please send an A5 SAE (1st or 2nd class stamp for up to 6 mice) to Calder Valley and District Cats Protection, PO Box 63, Todmorden, OL14 8WQ.

Our 42 page manual Adopting a Rescue Cat is packed with information on cat care. It's a must for first timers, and even old hands will find it interesting. Manuals cost £4.00 plus 54p p&p. from the address above.

Secondhand goods are always in demand. Throughout the year our stalwart band of fundraisers run market stalls and car boot sales, see our News and Events page. Thinking of clearing out your cupboards? Let Calder Valley and District Cats Protection convert your unwanted goods to cat food. We will even collect items from your home! To arrange a time and date, please phone 01706 810489. We need unwanted ornaments, pottery, crockery, glasses, toys, books, mirrors, pictures, videos, CD ROMs, books and jewellery. We auction some of these goods on our Ebay site.

New goods are always in demand too - unwanted gifts and excess stock for prizes, and crafts, plants and jam for stalls. We are also in need of food, litter and equipment for the many cats that pass through the Branch each year.

We would also love to hear from anyone who could donate stationery or printing and laminating services. Also, as some of our cats are accommodated by Branch volunteers in purpose built cat pens, we would love to hear from you if you can donate a building skill and can lay concrete bases for the pens.
