More about us...

The society was founded in 1916 and is affiliated to the National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA) We have a wide range of members from the Kidderminster area and across all age ranges too, although we don't have a youth group. Membership of the society starts from 16 years of age. The society is administered by a committee elected at the Annual General Meeting held in September, the posts for 2007/8 being:- President (Charlie Combes), Chairman (Pat Scully), Secretary (Jackie Rutland), Treasurer (Peter Dawson), Business Manager (Denise Churchett) and Social Secretary in conjunction with Carpet Trades Operatic Society - Wendy Richards; with 6 ordinary committee members posts assisting; John Church, Chris Paine, Jill Parmenter, Nigel Preece, Sali Hunt and John Watkins. We also have a Patron of the Society, Edna B Church JP. There are many people and organisations we are grateful to for their continued support, including New Meeting Church and the Rose Theatre. It is hoped that as this web site develops, we will be able to expand the "Past Productions" page with archive photographs, press articles and highlights of earlier productions, as well as remember key people who have contributed so much to the Society over the years and also those working now to ensure a successful future!
