 The
2005 UK eLearning Regions and Cities Conference (Oxford 21
and 22 June 2005) will bring together the most up to date
information in eLearning for regional authorities. You would
expect nothing less. But the 2005 conference will also work
with groupings of regional stakeholders
(e.g. the RDA, representatives from LEAs and from HE and FE
institutions, local LSCs, employers and workforce representatives,
as well as locally based technology providers) to work on
regional strategy and tactics. Policy is all very well, but
what is needed is a sense of mutually aware action: more than
just talk.
Equip
yourself with the right concepts, tools and methods
to enable you to make a difference to your organisation,
your
community, and your region.
|
As a participant
in the conference you will leave with some of the work already
done in developing or updating your policy and strategy, and
with the basis laid for continuing cooperation with the local
stakeholders in your area.
The conference
will offer leading edge input sessions
and key note speakers, of course, but most of the sessions
will be more participative, in a workshop format. Even presentations
will finish with at least the last third of the time allocated
for discussion of the issues raised.
The
conference will provide worked examples which you can follow
for your own situation, such as completing part of the SEEL
Quality Guidelines for one regional authority, so that you
can adapt the sorts of answers being inserted for that region
to fit your own local needs.
There will
also be structured regional meetings, to ensure that the groundwork
is laid for continued cooperation after the conference, and
certain activities will benefit from having a group of local
stakeholders together.

Special
Deal for Regional Groups
To make it
easier for regional authorities to encourage their local stakeholder
organisations to join them, we offer packages of entrances
for the conference at preferential rates. We suggest that
you should encourage your local contacts and stakeholders
to join you at the conference, as a springboard to future
cooperation and more efficient joint working. For more
details on the special group rates, see here.
