Building models I got at the IPMS Nationals - Scale Model World at Telford Shropshire in the UK. I came home with a car packed with some mouthwatering goodies :-)

The only problem is which ones to start - and finishing some of the ones I've already started :-)

Zvezda's Model 1944 kit number 3533 After a sprayed coat of paint... The decals went on

My current project - the re-released Esci Valentine - a great little kit - it has link and length tracks, a bit of flash, but it will make a superb model together with an Armo replacement gun barrel.

I'm thinking of uploading my selection of photos from Bovington. These are of the MkII but it's a good starting point for detailing.

Mind you there are some excellent Games Workshop kits waiting for some attention too... This is an Ork War Trukk - great fun and built in an evening too!

Here it is in the painting stage - together with my 'killer Kan'- a sort of powered armoured suit with a fierce looking cutting blade and a chunky flame thrower. Standing in the trukk is a Space Ork wierdboy - just ready to take the field. No, I don't wargame, I just like the kits :-)

And this is the opposition - an Ultramarine - one of a squad in a big Warhammer diorama - some change from Green eh!

My Games Workshop Predator is now finished, I'm going to get a few pics of it for another article next month.

This is my Seelow Heights T-34 still masked up for it's final dusting with Humbrol matt 29 last month. This is another one I should be photographing and writing an article on for the next update.

This model was on display on my SIG stand at Scale Model World, and I'm pleased with it. And that's what it's all about.

Here's a close-up of the turret area before the matting spray of Kleer and Tamiya flat base was airbrushed on.

I like to do a dead matt finish on my AFVs - I feel it makes them look more used.

My Maquette T-34 which will be done up as a T-34 Model 1969 in Egyptian colours It's got a Jordi Rubio gun barrel, and Model Kasten tracks were next to be fitted. The road wheels are a mix of Maquette and Tamiya - T-34s rarely had a full set of the same type of wheels.

I'm also working on these kits in between updating the website and just plain boring going to work...

A discarded turret being used..!

The Tamiya T-34/76 with some micro ballons and Tamiya and scratch built road signs that will become a dio for a Russian sniper.

My long running T-34 diorama - which seems to be taking longer than Star Wars to get to the point...

Kate produced a piece of Vellum for me to play with. It's frosted, with a pale blue tint and just right to make the top surface of the frozen ice river. This may mean I make a new base - keep watching for some movement here... :-)

So far I've put in a Jordi Rubio gun barrel and the glassis armour from the Tamiya /76. The infantry grab handles have been replaced with brass wire.

Together with some Fruil metal track links, a bit of chain and some dented metal foil for the tool box lid I hope this is winner in the making. At the least I will be happy with it - that's important. :-)

A conversion I'm also working on is this Panzer IV Ausf K - a Revell/Hasegawa combination in 1/72nd scale for what could have become the Wermacht's main medium tank in 1946. It's interesting to look at this in comparison with the T-34 which was a sucessful upgrade from a 76mm gun in a small turret to an 85mm gun in a much larger turret.

Hybrid Pz IV Ausf K on the way..?
Hasegawa's Panther F
and Revell's late model Pz IV
should equal the Pz IV Ausf K

But... I've got to find a total of 4 steel road wheels for the first two axles on each side - I thought the Hasegawa Jagdpanzer had 'em, so I ordered a couple from Hannants - searched the box... wrong. I took a look at the box details more carefully. Hasegawa's kit number MT49 is the L48 barrel and MT50 is the L50. Guess what? Mine is an L48.

So I looked for an Esci Jagdpanzer IV - the L70 should have steel wheels. Finally tracked one down. But again, no steel wheels.

So for the moment I've had to put the Ausf K on hold. But I will complete this fascinating (and simple) conversion. In the meantime, I'm not wasting the work so far, it's going to be built as a straight Panzer IV - I had to open another kit, as the hull top splash guard had to be trimmed off, as well as a sliver shaved out of the turret ring to allow the turret to clear the hull hatches.

Again - Watch this space... :-)
