The last complete weekend of September is the date for the Tank Museum Show at Bovington in Dorset. This is probably my favourite two day outside the IPMS Scale Model World - even allowing for the 5am start...

Still a cooked breakfast in the Gauntlet restaurant is very tempting.

After that there's three halls of armour related displays, tanks, self propelled guns and fascinating info. All this is backed up by - for this weekend only - many good models and some of the best traders in the business...

Italeri (I think) Elephant
This Panzer IV has all its panels open

I like engineer vehicles - this is a superb example with a load of goodies hung on it.

A nice dusty Iraq 2003 Warrior - snapped by me as I'm thinking of doing the Revell 1/72nd one soon.

A well deserved Commended award
An excellent Panzer IV diorama

An Isherman

The Israli M50 version of the American Sherman.

This one is not only well finished, but has a good base, and a nameplate - all in all well excecuted model !

The Tamiya Hall

Viewed from the stand over the Challenger - showing just one of the three halls, this is 10.00 on the Saturday morning, and shows just a few of the traders who now have my take home pay for the month...

This 1/35th scale Sherman took the Gold
Unfortunately for me -

'Panzer Pic' in 1/72nd scale

This is a neat way of displaying your smaller models I think. There's a collection of about six of these imaginative models on this stand.

My IPMS(UK) SIG stand

Set-up in front of a British 17 pounder equipped M10. Bovington is one of the few places where you can see the real thing and the model together...

A close-up of the MIG Productions Knocked Out T34 kit.

Here's another view of that Sherman

Some extra (terrestrial) visitors

There were no less than six Daleks who trundled round all weekend offering to exterminate the visitors - small children loved them, even when squirted by the water pistols these Daleks now mount...

They are all members of the Dalek builders group, a lot of ingenuity has gone into these homebuilt replicas.

Another group of visitors

The radio controlled people were out in force - noisy but popular again with children. The build quality on them is really excellent too...
