Education aBc Oxford Summer Course Photos 2005 -
International Sports Academy 2005

Here are a few photos of some of the training our students have been undertaking on the International Sports Academy optional courses this summer.

First, our rugby coach (Andy Baulch, from the Oxfordshire Schools Rugby set up) has been excellent, and has proved very popular.
As well as intensive fitness and technique training, there have been sessions in the pool - and also this session in the main quad, practising the right posture for picking a ball up off the ground.
Where else can you train in surroundings like this?!

For more photos from this summer's Oxfordshire Schools Rugby camp, please see here.

On the basketball front, we have also had a very successful year, with students from across Oxfordshire joining our international students on the programme.

The students have worked very hard, and have found it quite draining physically, but have also recognised their rapid improvement in skills, technique and understanding of the game. We have been very pleased to have had Graham Nicholls, from the Oxfordshire Active Sports set up, leading the basketball coaching, with support from various other coaches, including the Welsh international players Damien Lyons.

The golf sports academy training has been led by Dean Davies, the professional at Hinksey Heights golf club, and his Tee 2 Green Golf Academy.

The tennis sports academy training has been led by the team at Esporta Racquets club.

The soccer sports academy training has been led by Owen McGovern at Oxford Active Sports, focussing on Speed Agility Quickness (SAQ), Team play: attacking Defending Possession, Types of team play, Technical Coaching. Oxford Active have experience in delivering soccer camps and clinics all over the world, and provide a comprehensive multi sports coaching in Oxfordshire, using coaches with Premier League Coaching Experience and Football league Centre of Excellence / Academy coaches.
