In Company Course Information

This page provides a brief overview of the specialist course plans and syllabuses which we have developed for use on the in-company programmes which we are offering. This information is intended to give line managers an idea of the sort of courses which might be possible, and what might be achieved in such courses. It is not strictly a menu from which to select, as the most successful courses are actually adapted and re-designed in partnership with the students, in the light of each student's, or group of students', learning needs and objectives.

General information for Extensive courses (e.g. 2 hours twice a week)
This is the overall syllabus outline, giving information on the sort of language areas which teachers will typically tackle with students at each level, and links to where teachers can source appropriate teaching material for each language area.

Information for Intensive Immersion courses (e.g. 5 days).
These documents are weekly plans, giving you an idea of the sort of language areas which might be covered in a week.
In practice, our teachers will work with the students, adapting the course to address the particular language learning needs of each group, and the final course might look somewhat different to the starting plan. Also, please note that this is not the full range of plans - at higher levels, there are several different plans available.

Information for English for Specific Purposes Courses (e.g. 2 days on Telephoning in English).
These documents are descriptions of the sort of language which might be covered in a one or two day course which focusses on a particular special need, such as English for telephoning, or English for emails, etc. This is a general description, not a specific course plan. Of course, the more time available for a course, the better, so in terms of planning time for a course on a specific area, if it is possible to make the course three days rather than two, then more can be achieved, and students will be able to perform at a correspondingly higher level after the course.
