Sunset over the Colleges and Library in the centre of OxfordOxford

Oxford is just the best place for a Summer Course.

We are really very lucky to have such excellent facilities that we could be running this course anywhere. But to be able to offer such a good course just outside the centre of this wonderful student city makes it even more exciting!

A Pavement Cafe in North Oxford near to the schoolOxford is a wonderful city at any time of the year, but it is in the summer that it is at its best. England gets plenty of rain in the winter, so that in the summer there is green everywhere – the trees, the grass, the flowers. Oxford is a city built for summer, with tree-lined roads, quiet walks by the river, and plenty of space. Whether you want to go punting or just lie back and watch the trees rustle gently in the breeze, there is space to breathe – and time to think.

Home to two universities (please see here for more information about Oxford University), one of the most famous libraries in the world, as well as many schools, hospitals and museums, Oxford is also a centre for learning. There is inspiration everywhere you look, from famous academics, to key moments in British history, and some of the most beautiful buildings you will see anywhere.

Jazz in the Parks in OxfordBut all those students mean that there are loads of things for students to do, as well! Restaurants and cafés, of course. Cinemas and theatres. Parks and squares. Shopping and street entertainment. Whatever your taste, there will be things to excite you, spaces for a moment of quiet and reflection, and plenty to do!

Here are just a few photographs of things you can see and do around Oxford during the summer.
