Residential Accommodation

Our residential accommodation is in modern purpose-built buildings. We have bright, spacious and airy houses, which have only just been renovated, some new, some in a more classic style, but recently renovated. There are communal dayrooms, where friendships are forged, with shared study-bedrooms giving more privacy, and some individual rooms.

The accommodation is immediately around the main quad, and is very convenient for the dining hall and for the classroom area. There is a sense of "home from home", whilst the open space and the playing fields all just at hand, a short walk through the underpass, means that, surplus energies can be directed into informal sports as well as into our organised activities.

Bedding is provided, of course, and is changed once a week. Please remember to bring your own towels for swimming and sports, and your own towel for showering every day. There are laundry facilities in each residence, where you can do any personal laundry you might need over the two weeks while you are with us.

Internet access is available in all residences, and we recomment that all students should set up an internet email address before coming to the course, so that they can easilyt communicate with their parents. One of our biggest headaches in running summer courses is that the students enjoy themselves so much that they don't call their parents as often as their parents would like them to! We hope that the use of internet email addresses will help students to be a bit better at keeping their parents in touch with all the fun they are having - and all the studying they are doing, too!

The residences themselves are of different sizes, but we always have a supervision ratio of at least 1 adult to 10 students at all times. Most rooms are for 2 students to share, with some single rooms and some with 3 students together in a larger room. Each area or floor has its own showers and toilets, with plenty of hot water for everyone.

We also arrange for facilities in each residence for students and leaders to prepare a hot drink before bed, if they wish to.
