Cley.

(Pronounced 'Cly') Conservation village in a picturesque setting. In medieval times it was a prosperous town and port. The main imports were coal, salt and Flemish bricks; the exports wool and grain.

The 14th to 15th century church overlooks the site of the silted up medieval harbour and quay. There was a great fire in the early 17th century which destroyed much of Cley.

Cley Mill

Built in 1713 and a landmark used recently by the BBC between programmes. It has a brick tower with two galleries and a domed cap of about 1810
