Cromer.
In Association with Amazon.co.uk

Cromer was originally a small fishing village and port, but by 1900 it was rapidly developing as a seaside resort. The streets are still, today, similar to how they were in Victorian times. The 1900 pier still survives, as does the fishing trade. Cromer is especially famous for its crabs and lobsters. The tower of the 15th century church was once used as a lighthouse.

At low tide many rock pools can be found on the beach. The beaches between Cromer and West Runton are also good places to hunt for fossils. In 1998 the remains of an extinct species of elephant was dug out of the cliffs at West Runton.

Things on offer in Cromer:

Cliff tops.
Market - daily indoor, outdoor Friday.
Theatre.
Cromer museum - fishermen's cottages and museum, including the 1890's home of a local fishing couple.
