About Ruth

Ruth has been involved in the craft of stained glass design and manufacture since 1989. Originally self-taught and relying on her natural appreciation of colour and the effects of light through glass, what started as an interest developed into a creative passion.

Sensing the need for the preservation of our English Heritage and observing the demand for her skills in restoring. She established Ruby stained Glass in 1995. Since then her reputation has grown undertaking ecclesiastical, commercial as well as private commissions. One of Dorset's most beautiful cottages' - some 300 years old - has benefited from her restorative skills. Her work has been exported as far as Europe and the United States.

Ruth is a qualified teacher and NVQ assessor, which also enables her to instruct adults with learning difficulties. Regular workshops and classes are held for those interested in learning her skills and are suitable for both the beginner and the more advanced student. The Tiffany technique is taught as well as the traditional lead, projects include mobiles, lamps and panels.

Ruth is a member of The Master Craftsman's Guild and holds a city and guilds Level 3 Training and Development Certificate.
